Winter solstice . Going inward . Entering the death cycle .

decided to go to couples therapy bc we noticed ourselves falling into roles we didn’t want to play out anymore and it’s been super helpful and I wish more people would do therapy together that’s all.

It’s been so fucking intense seeing so much constant suffering on social media with the footage from Gaza . Gluttony gas and greed feels like it’s at the root . Settler colonialism rears it’s nasty head once again . I obviously do not have the answers to this and it isn’t realistic to think there will never be war in this world but I feel like we could at least begin with spending our money in places that don’t continue to fuel this genocide. There are SO many companies to boycott here and SO many smaller companies that do things well that we should be supporting more . I really think that if we focused more on consciously voting with our dollars on the daily it would have a huge impact for all the fuckery that capitalism causes world wide. The horrible shit were being shown regularly is important . But sometimes I wonder if it’s actually helpful to actively traumatize ourselves to the point of inaction… it reminds me a lot of standing rock and how enraged I felt . That whole experience really taught me how little what we as the people say actually gets listened to. The government does what it wants with a smile on their face . It’s so disappointing over and over again.

If I could force everyone to do things for their health this is what I think I’d focus on: drinking enough healthy water daily . Eating enough healthy protein and well sourced plant fiber daily in community with a calm nervous system . Meditation daily . Movement in nature daily . Laugh daily .

Conventional Lab values now are based on average ranges of the current population. The ranges have been shifting – it’s not based on what optimal ranges would be – it’s based on the standard American . Just because your lab values are within the conventional range does not mean it indicates absence of dis-ease . Even just basic labs like a cbc and CMP can be incredibly indicative of your overall health picture if you know what to look for with functional lab assessments . If you’re interested in it ask and I’ll show you what’s up with it. We all deserve to feel good and get answers when our health feels off.

What do you identify as? Now I can identify as a naturopathic doctor . I’ve always identified as the youngest, as a sister , as a daughter , as a cousin . I’m left handed . I used to identify more as an athlete . Now I’m a dog guardian , a partner . I’m a Rhode Islander but a California resident . I’m a Capricorn . Im an American which is embarrassing at times and I’m an ancestor of Irish immigrants. I’m a student and a teacher . I’m a woman . It’s interesting to think about what I might not identify with down the line and what else I’ll identify with in the future too. We’re always evolving if we give ourself the space to . Less judgement more love

On the injured masculine : so many toxic males yikes .. guys have to over compensate so much and still don’t feel safe to be around the a lot of the time . It makes it hard to soften into the female . It’s sad really . The world is “run by men” but sometimes it seems like a bunch of injured sad little boys calling the shots . I wish there was more space for men to heal and feel secure in themselves . I wish the majority of men in our country weren’t so numbed out and scared and that there was better role models for how to be in a healthy masculine .. to be able to create a safe space for women to soften and trust and not have to over compensate in ways that adds to the imbalance .

How many of us unconsciously repeat patterns that we picked up in childhood ? How many of us are carrying things for the early generations? What if we handed it back ? What if it didn’t perpetuate through us any further?

PSA not all infections required antibiotics. The second you notice the immune system activated or like You’re getting run down take elderberry syrup and or fire cider, hydrate and rest. Listen to your body . We’re over using antibiotics as a whole and it’s making bugs stronger and our immune system in our gut much more susceptible to infection down the line.

Please can we stop buying supplements from Amazon ? There is no quality control and tons of trash bootlegging going on. Get them from the company itself and make sure the company is 3rd party testing whatever you are buying.

Most empowering thing I learned in naturopathic medical school? Women can technically only get pregnant 1 day during the month. Sometimes implantation happens in different parts of the womb and sperm can live for 5-7 days in there but we can only actually get pregnant ONE DAY. Why are we taking meds all month? Know your cycle. Know your body. Trust your awareness.

anxiety in an unsafe world.. so many things in our environment today keeps us on edge. Toxins in the air in our water in our foods , constant stimulation through social media and advertisements, empathy overload with people on the streets and seeing what injustices are happening to people worldwide on the daily , over stimulation has become our norm . There’s so much out of our control that it has become extremely important to do what we can to take care of our nervous systems and our detox channels. A lot of people are experiencing anxiety because of histamine reactions going on and try to cover it up with medications but down the line it just get louder . It’s not meant to freak us out it’s just meant to be useful for making more informed decisions about our health . Suppression leads to a louder expression . Breathwork, yoga , time in nature . They’re free and extremely helpful for nourishing our nervous systems in this gnarly world.

Pain and heartache and feeling it. Ouch . It felt like a part of me was dying . This is a reminder to trust that whatever is meant for you will find it’s way . All we can do is our best .

What if we just let ourselves be? Let other people be? Took care of ourselves enough to let that self love overflow and inspire others to do the same? Learned to regulate our own nervous systems enough that others can have a taste of what it feels like? Not controlling others to fit what you need but instead being your own match so that deeper more conscious connections with others can be made… what happens when we all just take a second to breathe and to pause and get comfortable with that ? What happens when we let ourselves live and let other people live without clinging or manipulating just by being and following what makes us light up ? If you know what lights you up do it .. that light inspires other people to find their source . We don’t have to get caught up in the rat race the way most of us are taught to think we do. We can create our own pace and our own sense of safety and live according to that .

PSA : just because you boil water doesn’t mean you are getting rid of the hormones, antibiotics , heavy metals or carcinogens that is in tap water .
